What it is

A new top-level settings page consolidating communication channels — team email, WhatsApp, SMS, live chat, calling and custom channels — into one place, with a guided setup wizard and a new send-from permission controlling which users and teams can respond from each account.

Why it matters

Managing channels meant opening each inbox and help desk separately with no single view of the whole setup. One page gives that view, and the send-from permission is the first real control over who can reply as whom.

The Take

Chris Carolan

marketing emails not in here and you know other communication channels. That you might be used to from a marketing or sales perspective. So just be aware of that.
Chris Carolan

Straightforward consolidation, and welcome. The genuinely new part is not the page, it is the send-from permission — controlling which users and teams can respond from a given channel account is the kind of governance that only becomes urgent after something embarrassing has already happened.

One caution worth carrying before you go looking. When the announcement says all your communication channels, read that as inbox, help desk and Service Hub. Marketing email is not in here, and neither are the other channels a marketing or sales team would reasonably assume the word covers. It is a real consolidation of a real subset — just not the one the phrase implies.

Read it as part of the same move the rest of the board is making: get the scattered configuration into one place so a human can hold it, which is also the precondition for AI being able to reason about it.

One page for every channel, as long as you don't mean marketing email
