What it is
When you hit the Users & Teams pages without the right permissions, you can now request access in-app. A modal lets you describe what you are trying to do and notifies an admin, who gets a link straight to the edit-permissions page with your context already loaded.

It's rare that somebody asks for this specific permission — and when they do, they usually actually need it, which is exactly why starting narrow here is the right call.
This is a small update, but it's a real first for HubSpot: when you try to access the Users & Teams page without permission, you can now request access right there in the app. A modal captures what you were trying to do, and it notifies an admin with a link straight to the edit permissions page — your context already loaded, so they're not left guessing why you asked.
I don't think there's anywhere else in HubSpot that works this way yet, which makes it worth watching. I'll admit I was mildly disappointed it's scoped to just this one page — I was hoping for something broader out of the gate. But narrow is the right place to start here. Users & Teams access requests are rare, and when someone does ask, they usually genuinely need it — the admin thought they already had the permission set and it turns out they didn't. Roll this out everywhere at once and you'd likely get hammered with requests that don't deserve the same white-glove treatment.
Worth a mention, not a confirmed connection: Kyle Jepson posted back in early July about using Breeze to navigate user permissions. I don't know that the two are related, but it's the same territory — making permissions less of a black box for the person who just hit a wall — and I'll be watching to see if this expands past one page.
