Bulk Delete and Restore for CRM Index Views
Monday, October 19, 2026
What it is
You can now see when each CRM index view (Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets and other objects) was last used, delete views in bulk, and restore deleted views yourself from a new Recently deleted page. Found under Object Settings > Index Customization. Live as of October 19, 2026, for all hubs and tiers.
Why it matters
Per HubSpot, views pile up as teams grow: duplicates, views nobody opens, and views left behind by people who have left. Deleting used to be one at a time, and recovering a deleted view meant contacting support. Now you can sort and filter by Last Used, bulk delete, and restore within 90 days. Usage tracking started March 24, 2026, so "No data" does not mean a view was never used.
The Take
There are two hundred and change views of the index used for the deal object… my guess is about twenty are used.
Casey's first word on this one was hallelujah. I went to the portal I am in that has the most egregious example of this, and there are two hundred and change views of the index for the deal object. Part of that is a legacy use case from the pre-pipeline days where deals were also used as projects. My guess is about twenty of them are used. There is "all deals dash one," up through dash five, about twenty of those created by different users, including multiple by the same person, and a lot of copies named for a person: this person's this-week view, this person's project view. That is my estimate, not a count from HubSpot.
Casey made the broader point that with all the changes to views over the last few years, she works in a lot of portals with a lot of baggage from it, because people moved to a board view or something else and the old views just sat there. This is a great way to clean some of that up.
Chris made the adoption-first case: let people treat a view like an Excel spreadsheet at the start, which means they clone a view rather than change one, and now that you can scale that back, you can get adoption first and not be so strict about ten checkpoints before anyone makes a view. This enables a little bit of cleanup after that early adoption step, which is great. And the restoration of deleted views is a pretty big deal, too. My version of it: select all, delete, and then when somebody complains, go restore their most viewed view. Chris loves that kind of admin. I would not actually run it that way, but it tells you how much the 90-day restore changes the risk.
Who should act this week: admins in portals where views have piled up. The portal Chris shared on the show did not have it yet even though the board says Live, so it is on a slow rollout; check yours before you plan the cleanup. Who can skip it: a young portal with a handful of views.

FAQ
Where do I find it?
Per HubSpot, under Object Settings > Index Customization. You can sort and filter by Last Used, delete views in bulk, and restore from the Recently deleted page.
How long can I restore a deleted view?
Per HubSpot, 90 days. Before this, a deleted view could only be recovered by contacting support.
If Last Used says No data, was the view never used?
Not necessarily. Per HubSpot, usage tracking started March 24, 2026, so No data does not mean never used.
Who gets it?
Per HubSpot, all hubs and tiers, Live as of October 19, 2026. The portal Chris Carolan shared on the show did not have it yet, so it may still be rolling out to you.
How bad does view sprawl get?
Joshua Oakes described the worst portal he works in: two hundred and change views for the deal object, his guess about twenty of them in use. Casey Hawkins said many portals she works in carry similar baggage from years of changes to views.
