What it is

Account Cleanup will now delete unused marketing email drafts rather than archiving them indefinitely. Deleted content is recoverable from the Recently deleted section of the email tool for up to 90 days.

Why it matters

Account Cleanup only archived clutter before, moving it out of the primary view without removing it. Fully clearing outdated content meant a second manual delete step that, in practice, nobody took.

The Take

Casey Hawkins

If I really wanted to save the email, I'm probably not leaving the title of it new email. So that right there is a good win for me.
Casey Hawkins

Casey pulled this one up live and it went further than she expected. The cleanup fired on a demo portal's 31 stale drafts before she found the confirmation step she was looking for. Worth knowing before you try it on a portal that matters: the archive step is the safety net, and this beta shortens the distance to gone.

The real question is filters. The recurring failure of cleanup tooling is that it keeps surfacing the things you deliberately kept, such as the email you clone as a working template because a real template will not carry your suppression list. If you have to uncheck the same items every run, you stop running it. There are additional filters now, which means naming conventions finally start paying rent.

The genuine win is smaller and more honest: anything still called New email is not an asset you meant to keep.
