Conditional Property Logic When Editing Records on Android
Thursday, July 16, 2026
What it is
The HubSpot mobile app on Android now applies the same conditional property logic admins configure in HubSpot, including follow-up fields, required information, and dependent options, when editing existing records, not just when creating them.
Why it matters
Before this update, admin-defined conditional logic applied when creating records on mobile but not when editing them. That gap made it easy for required data rules to be skipped when reps updated records in the field, leaving incomplete records and inconsistent pipeline data. Now mobile edits follow the same rules as everywhere else in HubSpot.
The Take
Casey Hawkins
AI doesn't really care about your rules.
I did not realize this was not already a thing. If someone takes the time to configure conditional property logic, they want it to apply in every scenario, and until now the mobile app only honored it on create. Rylee made the point that this matters most for field sales at conferences, where people are qualifying leads from their phone on the floor, and especially now that Breeze is in the mobile app. That is exactly the moment your lead progression rules should be enforced, not skipped.
The bigger thing this got me thinking about: AI, MCP, and CLI tools do not care about your carefully defined conditional property logic whatsoever. If Claude wants to update a deal type that you have gated with required properties, it will just set the deal type and stop. I hope this update is a step toward conditional property logic applying every single place a record gets edited, because right now AI does not really care about your rules.

FAQ
Do I need to reconfigure anything?
No. This applies the conditional property logic you have already set up to the mobile editing flow automatically.
Who gets it?
All Professional and Enterprise customers using the HubSpot mobile app. The same update shipped for iOS.
Does this apply to API or AI-driven edits?
No. This is a mobile app experience update. Integrations, AI agents, and API writes still bypass conditional property logic today.
