What it is
You can now create and edit contracts directly in HubSpot with no quote required. Contracts can be created and accessed from deal, contact, company, or ticket records, and from the contract index page.
Why it matters
Many organizations manage quoting and billing in external systems. Until now HubSpot required a quote to create a contract, which made it hard to bring those contracts in and use them as a reliable source of truth.

Lowering the barrier to entry for sure, even if people don't use the objects in the exact order HubSpot would have expected.
The workaround quote was the actual barrier, and it is worth naming why. Asking a team to invent a fake quote so their real contract can exist is the kind of friction that quietly stops an object from being adopted at all, and then gets misread later as low demand.
Neither of us has a client on Revenue Hub Pro or Enterprise yet, and we said so on air rather than pretending otherwise. That is exactly the point of lowering a barrier. It pays off when people arrive, and it makes arriving more likely.
