Enhanced Meeting Transcription for Notetaker

I picked this one because I live and die by transcript quality — everything I do after a call depends on it. Full disclosure: we haven't adopted HubSpot's native Notetaker internally yet, partly because it wasn't up to standard in the early days. This update is the first thing that's made me want to look again. The headline is transcripts up to four times faster, plus real quality improvements for non-English and multilingual conversations where speakers switch languages mid-call. That second part matters more than it sounds — it's a quality fix, not just a speed fix.

The pain this solves is real and specific to me: I use Fathom, and Fathom's transcript is basically instant. I've also used Google Meet's native transcription, and that can take an hour or more to show up — by the time it lands, I've forgotten the exact context I needed to check against it. If I can review a transcript right after the call, I catch what an AI summary got wrong. If I'm waiting an hour, I don't.

One thing that came up on the show and is worth sitting with: an agent processing a transcript can come back with fifty tasks when there clearly aren't fifty real tasks to do — something about how the conversation gets read assumes more action items than actually exist. Faster, better transcripts help the summarization layer downstream, but they don't fix that problem on their own. Worth watching once you're actually running summaries against these.

The one thing that will decide whether this touches you at all: it only works for video meetings recorded with HubSpot's own native Notetaker. If you're recording through an integration — Fathom, Gong, whatever — this update does not apply to you yet.
