Private beta

What it is

Private beta. A native app connection between HubSpot and Epic, one of the most widely used electronic medical records systems, that syncs health records into HubSpot and maps them automatically to contacts, appointments, and sensitive data properties.

Why it matters

For any HubSpot customer working with health data, getting that data into HubSpot has meant doing it by hand, or not at all. This closes that gap using infrastructure HubSpot already has for storing sensitive data. Private beta with limited spots via interest form.

The Take

Chris Carolan

Epic is basically CRM for hospitals, and a branded app like this means HubSpot got permission on the other side, which means the compliance work is already done.
Chris Carolan

Epic is basically CRM for hospitals, so don't read this as "one more integration," read it as a market-access play. This is a branded app, which means HubSpot owns the integration, and that almost never happens without permission on the other side. Getting that kind of access from Epic means real work got done on compliance, HIPAA and sensitive data handling, before this ever showed up as a private beta. That's the signal worth paying attention to, more than the feature itself.

Zach had a client story on the show that's the exact shape of the gap this closes: a chiropractor on an on-prem EHR with no API, data locked down, who eventually churned off the HubSpot tools because there was no clean way to connect patient data to the marketing work HubSpot was doing well for them. That's the segment this opens up, "I'd love to use HubSpot, but I can't," and as HubSpot's market share grows, expect them to keep finding these nooks. If you're a healthcare-adjacent business already on Epic, apply for the private beta this week, the interest form is worth five minutes. If you're not touching health data, skip this one knowingly, there's nothing to configure yet and it isn't built for you.

FAQ

Does this touch my portal?

Only if you work with health data and use Epic as your EMR. This is a private, application-based beta, not a self-serve opt-in yet.

How do I get into the beta?

Apply through HubSpot's interest form; spots are limited.

What does it actually sync?

Health records from Epic map automatically into HubSpot contacts, appointments, and sensitive data properties.

Is this HIPAA-safe?

HubSpot already supports storing sensitive data, and a branded Epic integration implies the compliance groundwork on Epic's side is done, but confirm your own compliance requirements before enabling it.
