Increased spend controls for HubSpot Credits

What it is

HubSpot made several changes to spend controls for HubSpot Credits. When you first purchase additional credits, HubSpot now sets an account-level monthly cap by default at 50% above your total monthly credits, pausing usage at the cap until the next reset; you can adjust that cap yourself from the Usage & Limits dashboard. Starting September 16th, customers who first purchase additional credits default to Pay-as-You-Go pricing for additional usage, charged per credit with no surprise tier changes. And you can now set credit limits for individual actions within a feature, not just at the portal or feature level. It's available now for Marketing, Sales, Service, Content, and Data Hub Starter, Professional, and Enterprise, Smart CRM Professional and Enterprise, and Revenue Hub Professional and Enterprise, on HubSpot Credits.

Why it matters

Worth checking your Usage & Limits dashboard this week if you're already on HubSpot Credits — the new default cap and the per-action limits both change how your spend behaves without you asking for it, and knowing where the cap sits now beats finding out at a pause. Skip it if you're not running HubSpot Credits, since none of these controls apply to you.
