What it is

Public beta. Replaces Customer Agent's old single-form action setup with a searchable, filterable catalog of pre-built CRM and Shopify actions organized by category, so you no longer have to build and host your own API proxies or hand-wire fields to connect common integrations.

Why it matters

Lowers the bar to giving Customer Agent real work to do, checking order status, resetting a password, pulling account details, instead of just answering questions, which is what actually drives resolution-rate improvements. Requires HubSpot Credits, available on Professional/Enterprise tiers across Marketing, Sales, Service, Content, Data Hub, and Smart CRM.

The Take

Chris Carolan

Anybody in the org can stumble into Agent Hub and ask about Customer Agent, and 'next week, I need budget' is not a great answer to have ready.
Chris Carolan

The moment Agent Hub shipped, this stopped being a "someday" feature. Somebody in your org, not necessarily you, not necessarily anyone in customer service, is going to open Agent Hub, see Customer Agent isn't activated, and ask you what it is and whether you should be using it. If your answer is "give me a week and some budget," you've already set a bad expectation before you've set up anything.

The Actions Library is what lets you answer that question with something instead of a promise. Pick two or three low-cost, low-lift actions, order status, a password reset, pulling account details, get them live, and let the resolution-rate numbers do the talking before you go ask for credits. That's how you build the internal case instead of arguing for it. One thing I'd flag before you connect anything: look hard at what data the agent can actually see once it's wired in. Deal notes with an unkind comment about a client, a thread where someone talks margin, none of that should be one integration away from a customer-facing conversation. Act this week if Customer Agent is already live for you, this is a real upgrade to how you connect it to your systems. If it isn't turned on yet, this is your excuse to finally have that conversation instead of waiting for someone else to force it on you.

FAQ

Does this touch my portal?

Only if you have Customer Agent activated, or are considering it, on Professional/Enterprise Marketing, Sales, Service, Content, Data Hub, or Smart CRM, plus HubSpot Credits.

How do I get into the beta?

It's public beta, opt in from the Actions setup screen inside Customer Agent.

What should I actually do with this update?

Pick two or three low-cost actions, connect them, measure resolution rate, then use those results to make the case for more credits or budget.

What's the risk to watch?

Whatever the agent can access, deal notes, pricing conversations, it can potentially surface, so audit access before wiring up new actions.
