New Help Desk Composer Experience

What it is
Support reps in help desk have a streamlined reply editor with a refreshed layout, less clutter and advanced formatting options, now including native tables through the insert menu. As of October 5, 2026, portals are being auto-opted into the new composer; users can still opt out. Live as a major update for Service Hub Professional and Enterprise.
Why it matters
Reps working in help desk struggle with visual clutter, an inefficient layout and missing features in the old composer, which slows replies and adds cognitive fatigue. The new editor reduces that friction, and native table support means pasted content such as a quote's line items arrives intact.
The Take
What changed as of October 5 is the part to read: portals are now being auto-opted into the new composer, with an opt out still available, and the advanced formatting options now include native tables through the insert menu. My question on the show was when any of us last built a table by hand inside an email, and the answer was a long pause. Ryan had the better read: this is about copy and paste. The old editor never supported a clean table element, so if you pasted a quote's line items into a reply to confirm what a customer bought and paid, it got wrecked. Now it comes over intact. Nobody is creating tables manually, but the thing people actually do finally works.
Help desk has come a long way in a short time, and its settings page is probably the most intimidating one in HubSpot right now, for good reason, because you are wiring every channel, custom and otherwise, into one inbox. Ryan has been inside a Service Hub test recently and was taken with the AI reply, a slash command into a response that already knows the context. We are about to learn a lot more about help desk ourselves now that Hubsessed and the Value-First Team both run real support through it.
