Rename and Activate Object Types via Public API

What it is

As of the CRM Data Model Beta (2027-03-beta) public API release, customers can now rename and activate eligible HubSpot-defined object types via public API, just like they can in HubSpot's data modeling tools in the UI.

Why it matters

Previously, while you could fetch the activation status of object types via public API, or fetch an entire object type schema with its labels, you couldn't actually activate or rename objects. Instead, that had to be done in the UI. This update removes that limitation, and additionally provides ways to fetch which object types have renames applied at all.
