What it is

View insights for every scoring rule across contacts, companies, and deals: Reach (the percentage and number of records that receive points from the rule), Average points at the current point assignment, Distribution (a histogram of how points are spread), and a Score impact summary showing how the rule ranks in reach and contribution relative to other rules.

Why it matters

Previously, building lead scores relied heavily on assumptions. Questions like whether anyone in your portal is actually getting points for a rule, or whether the rule makes any difference to the score, went unanswered until after the score went live. Rule Insights answers them in real time as you build, so you can adjust rules and point assignments before the score goes live.

The Take

should we be scoring on this specific rule at all? Sometimes yes, but sometimes no.

This is the update that ends the twenty-points-or-fifteen-points argument. Teams get stuck for days, sometimes weeks, debating what a page visit should be worth, for pages that get two visits a month. Rule Insights puts the reach number right there while you build. Now the conversation is whether to keep the rule at all, not how many points it deserves.

It matters more now than it would have two years ago. People are using AI more and visiting websites less, so far fewer of them take any given micro-action, and most of the research happens somewhere that is not scoreable at all before anyone lands on your site. Scores need to get broader: all form submissions rather than that one form, categories of behavior rather than individual pages. This is the first tool that shows you which of your narrow rules have quietly stopped firing.

One honest limitation: it evaluates a score you have already built, not one you are designing from scratch. The good news is the score does not have to be live. A draft shows you reach before anything reaches production. The right starting point is still upstream of the tool: take a customer who actually closed, walk through everything they did and touched, and build from what the data really shows. Then build it here, read the reach, and tweak.

Treat it as a standing exercise, not a one-time build. If you have any volume at all, this should be a weekly look.
