What it is

Tasks created by sequences now automatically associate with related contacts, companies, deals, and other records.

Why it matters

Previously sequence tasks linked only to the enrolled contact, forcing reps to manually associate other records.

The Take

Casey Hawkins + Chris Carolan

The value here is not the tasks, it is where they show up. A task that only knows about the enrolled contact is a task you have to go hunting for in a separate queue, which is exactly why task lists go stale and get ignored. Auto-associating a sequence task to the company and deals it belongs to means it surfaces on the records you are already working, not in a list you have to remember to visit.

Pair it with the association filtering that shipped the same week and a task becomes something you can filter a record list by, which is a genuinely different way to work. One gotcha worth knowing: the settings live under Settings, Objects, Activities, which is not where most people look, and it inherits the activity-association rules you have already configured.
