Social Calendar Redesign

What it is
You can now use the Calendar tab in the social tool, which replaces the Manage tab and opens to a unified calendar view with list, month, week, and day formats in one place.
Why it matters
Social media teams think in terms of when posts go out, not just their status. The old table-based view made it hard to visualize a content plan over time. The new calendar-first experience aligns with how content teams actually work and matches what they're used to from industry-standard tools.
The Take
So the real update is that the main tab is now calendar instead of manage.
Per the panel, the Calendar tab in the social tool now replaces the Manage tab and opens to one calendar with list, month, week, and day formats. It is in public beta, and the panel lists Professional and Enterprise for Marketing. I picked this one first, and I will be straight with you: the change on screen is smaller than the headline.
When it loaded, Casey and I both stopped to ask whether there had been a calendar already. There was one, and I could not find anything else that is different. So here is what I think is really going on: “So the real update is that the main tab is now calendar instead of manage.” What changed is which view you land in.
The part I liked was in our own portal. Click back to last month and the calendar shows how many posts were published each day: “Publish posts. Twelve more, nine more, ten more.” That is a quick read of how busy the VFT portal has been, and it is the plan-over-time view the panel is talking about. Casey also noticed the month view hides weekends. If you post on a Saturday, look at that before you trust the calendar as your whole picture.
Oaks mentioned he does not have Marketing Hub for his publishing, so he is not in this tool much, though he has seen it. That is the skip case.
What to do: if your team publishes social from HubSpot, open the Calendar tab this week, check the month and week views against what you actually have scheduled, and tell the team the Manage tab is no longer the landing page. If you do not publish from HubSpot, skip it. I will just be happy about progress being made on the social calendar.
