Updates to HubSpot's New Theme, and a Sunset Date for the Classic One
Thursday, August 13, 2026
What it is
HubSpot's new visual theme is in public beta, and the classic theme now has an end date. On August 31 the new look becomes the default for everyone, automatically. Nothing about how HubSpot works is changing, only how it looks: lighter table headers, updated link styling, and new button colors, with cleaner typography, more deliberate spacing, and the layout and card-based structure you already know left in place. The latest round of refinements, made in response to feedback from customers already on the new theme, was available as early access and reached everyone on the theme on July 27. This applies to all hubs and tiers.
Why it matters
HubSpot is being open that this is step one of a longer redesign, released gradually so the full change feels familiar instead of sudden when it arrives. That is a reasonable way to move a few hundred thousand portals through a visual shift. The practical wrinkle is small things like the big orange button in the top right no longer being orange, which is exactly the kind of detail that trips up a demo or a training when half your clients are on the new theme and half are not. The reason to switch before August 31 rather than wait is pace: moving early lets your team get familiar on their own schedule instead of logging in one morning to a redesigned product. If change management is a real concern for your users, the window between now and August 31 is the thing to use.
