What Sales Hub is, and what changed in 2026
You run deals through HubSpot already and you are trying to work out what is actually new here versus what is still a beta nobody should build a process around yet.
If you have five minutes
- Sales Hub covers the surfaces a rep and a revenue leader touch daily: the deal record and its pipeline, the notetaker that captures a call or a meeting, the sequences and templates a rep sends from, the power dialer, meeting links — and, because HubSpot files it here rather than under Marketing Hub, a meaningful share of the scoring and prospecting-agent work that decides who a rep talks to first.
- Buying Groups and deal approvals live here too. None of that is new. What changed across 2026 is how much of it now carries an AI layer, and how much of that layer is still in beta.

The subjects Sales Hub covers, in the show's own words
- Notetaker — Captures and transcribes calls and meetings, native to HubSpot. The mobile app got its own releases in 2026: One Tap Mobile Notetaker for Android (one-tap-mobile-notetaker-android, live, first covered 2026-08-21) and the matching iOS release (one-tap-mobile-notetaker-ios, public beta, first covered 2026-08-14). Enhanced Meeting & Call Transcription for Notetaker (enhanced-meeting-transcription-notetaker, public beta, first covered 2026-08-11) speeds up transcription and improves multilingual accuracy — but only for meetings recorded through HubSpot's own native Notetaker, not through an integration like Fathom or Gong.
- Lead Scoring — Rule Insights for Building Scores (rule-insights-for-building-scores, public beta, first covered 2026-08-25) shows how often an individual scoring rule actually fires. Discover and Score High-Impact Events with AI-Powered Insights (discover-score-high-impact-events, live, first covered 2026-07-29) suggests point values for high-impact events. The Lead Scoring Public API (lead-scoring-public-api, public beta, first covered 2026-08-13) opens the configuration and the computed score to outside tools. A companion sunset is in motion: the legacy scoring property is marked for retirement (legacy-scoring-sunset, upcoming sunset, first covered 2026-07-14).
- Buying Groups — Builds an Account Map of the people involved in a deal (buying-groups, public beta, first covered 2026-08-19). It can auto-populate the group from job titles already in the CRM, which is also its sharpest risk — see the door on explaining it to someone else.
- Prospecting agent — Watches for buying signals and sources contacts, expanded in Prospecting Agent Gets Smarter: Buying Signals and Contact Sourcing (prospecting-agent-buying-signals-contact-sourcing, public beta, first covered 2026-07-30). It requires a Sales Hub Pro or Enterprise seat, not just agent credits.
- Sequences and templates — Both now have a public API: Sales Templates Public API and Sequences Public API (sales-templates-public-api, sequences-public-api, both public beta, first covered 2026-07-31), released to beta the same week. Sequence Task Associations (sequence-task-associations, public beta, first covered 2026-07-21) auto-associates a sequence task to the company and deals it belongs to, instead of leaving it in a queue nobody visits.
- Deals — Deal Approvals: Increased Approver Limit shipped live (deal-approvals-increased-approver-limit, first covered 2026-06-29). Smart Deal Progression: Deal Emails and Next Best Actions, which drafts a deal's follow-up email, is still in private beta (smart-deal-progression-deal-emails-and-next-best-actions, first covered 2026-06-15) — the show has aired a clip on it but not yet a full take.
- Calls and meetings — Call Recording Settings per User and Team (call-recording-per-user-team, public beta, first covered 2026-07-16) lets recording default on for one team and off for another. Recorded Meetings No Longer Create Duplicate Call Records (recorded-meetings-no-duplicate-call-records, public beta, first covered 2026-08-04) stops a single recorded conversation from writing both a meeting and a call record. View Calendar Details When Booking Meetings on Behalf of Other Users (calendar-details-booking-on-behalf, public beta, first covered 2026-08-07) lets a delegate see what a "busy" block on someone's calendar actually is.
The throughline the show keeps finding
One instinct, several product names
Across scoring, prospecting and account structure, the same discipline repeats: the automation is only as good as the definition work done before it is switched on. Casey's question on Rule Insights for Building Scores — "should we be scoring on this specific rule at all? Sometimes yes, but sometimes no." — and her line on Discover and Score High-Impact Events — set your handoff threshold first, then judge HubSpot's suggested point values against it — make the same move as Chris's warning on Buying Groups: let the AI build a structure off whatever is already sitting in the CRM, and the structure is only as reliable as that data was to begin with.

The wider archive
The show's own Sales Hub coverage sits inside a much older body of work on deals, scoring and pipeline. None of the following has aired as a 2026 feature take — these are pointers, not features, and every claim above still rests on the 2026 record.
- The show covered lead scoring's legacy-property sunset across a season of Value-First Scoring and Lead Score Monday episodes, from "Rethinking Lead Scoring Before Sunset" (2025-07-17) through "Lead Scoring as a Gateway to More Human Sales Conversations" (2026-03-03).
- The show covered deal tags for buyer-centric intelligence on The Value Path in "Deal Tags: Building Buyer-Centric Intelligence in HubSpot" (2026-03-26), and buying-committee detection the following month (2026-04-09).
- The show covered forecast intelligence and deal-stall detection on Value-First Data's Unified Revenue View series (2026-03-24 and 2026-04-21).
- The show covered CPQ and quoting across Let's Build CPQ with Bill Barlas (2025-01-09, 2025-01-23, and Value-First CPQ with Bill Barlas on 2025-09-07) and Let's Unbox HubSpot: AI-Powered CPQ (2025-10-21).
- The show covered the power dialer on Let's Unbox HubSpot: Calling & Power Dialer with Sarah Hall (2025-11-08).

Where to next

Every Sales Hub update
The record behind every status and date on this page, newest first.
Where this comes from
- The Another Orange Morning HubSpot Updates archive. the Sales Hub takes, statuses and first-covered dates, as the show recorded them
- The show's own back catalogue on deals, scoring and pipeline. Value-First Scoring, The Value Path, Value-First Data, Let's Build CPQ and Let's Unbox HubSpot — pointers, not 2026 feature takes
What we do not know yet
- The show has not yet aired a feature take on forecasting itself — the pipeline number, the deal-stage math a revenue leader reports up.
- Chris's steer on this Hub explicitly widens the frame to "anything related to deals and forecasting," and the deal-adjacent material that exists lives mostly in the Value-First Data and Value Path archives rather than in a 2026 Sales Hub release.
- When a forecasting feature gets its own take, it belongs on this page.
