Instagram Direct Message File Attachments in the Social Inbox

What it is

When replying to Instagram direct messages in HubSpot's social inbox, you can now send images, audio files, PDFs, and videos directly from HubSpot. This is in private beta for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise.

Why it matters

Instagram DMs are where a lot of product questions and early sales conversations actually happen, and a short video or a spec sheet often answers a question better than a text reply. Until now, sending anything beyond text meant leaving HubSpot for the Instagram app, which breaks the record of the conversation. Sending files from the social inbox keeps the whole exchange in one place. Modest on its own, but it closes a gap social teams felt every time they had to switch tools.
