Real-Time Table Updates Reach Record Pages

What it is
Index and record pages now update property data in real time as records are created or modified, so a new record, an ownership change, or a status change shows up without a manual refresh. This is in public beta across all HubSpot products. The index-page side of this has been live for a while; the new piece is that record pages now refresh in place too. We covered the index-page version when it first arrived, and that earlier breakdown of real-time table updates has the original context.
Why it matters
If a workflow updates a property in the background, you now see it on the record you are already looking at, and a new deal can appear at the top of your view without a reload. Worth knowing the boundary: the report view on the index page still needs a manual refresh, and the data many of us most want live, reports and dashboards, is not part of this release. Useful to keep in mind before you treat a dashboard number as current when it is not.
The Take
Casey Hawkins
It is a handful of table limitations, not a preference for reports, that pushes people into reports.
For the client I have been in this week, a table would be the better instrument for a good deal of what they need. It is a handful of specific table limitations, not a preference for reports, that pushed us into reports instead. Real-time updates close one of those gaps, which makes the table a little more viable than it was last week.
The win here is subtraction, not speed. Every place in a portal where you have to stop and guess whether a refresh is required is a place somebody eventually guesses wrong. Refresh is such a cheap fix that it hides how often you are reaching for it. Knowing which surfaces are current on their own is worth more than watching a number tick over.
