What HubSpot AI is, and what actually changed in 2026
You run HubSpot already, you've heard 'Breeze' for years and now hear 'HubSpot AI,' and you're trying to work out what changed, what's live, and what's still a bet.
If you have five minutes
- HubSpot's own terminology guidance, effective July 23, 2026, is blunt about it: "Breeze" is no longer the umbrella term for HubSpot's AI tools.
- The exception is Breeze Assistant, which remains unchanged.
The name changed on July 23. Here's what it changed to.
HubSpot's own terminology guidance, effective July 23, 2026, is blunt about it: "Breeze" is no longer the umbrella term for HubSpot's AI tools. The exception is Breeze Assistant, which remains unchanged. Individual agent names are lowercase. So the umbrella is now HubSpot's AI, HubSpot's AI tools, or HubSpot's collection of AI tools. What used to get called Breeze Agents is now HubSpot's agents, HubSpot's AI agents, or simply agents. What used to get called the Prospecting Agent or the Customer Agent is now the prospecting agent, the customer agent, the closing agent — lowercase, because they're job titles now, not product names. Agent Hub keeps its capital letters. HubSpot calls it "the home base in HubSpot for managing, building, and tracking agents."
This door uses those current terms throughout. Where an update's own title still says "Breeze" in the old sense — because that's what HubSpot called it the week it shipped — the title is quoted exactly as published. A changelog entry is a record of what shipped, in the vocabulary of the day it shipped. New prose written here isn't.
The three pieces, in one screen
- Breeze Assistant
- the conversational layer riding inside the rest of the product: type or say what you want in plain language, and it reaches into your portal's own data and tools to do it. It hasn't been renamed. It's the piece HubSpot's terminology change explicitly left alone.
- The agents
- customer agent, prospecting agent, closing agent, and the general-purpose custom agents you build yourself in Agent Builder. Each one is a defined job: instructions, data, context, and the tools it's allowed to reach.
- Agent Hub
- the home base where every agent lives, gets configured, and gets tracked. It reached public beta around July 23, 2026 — the archive's own record carries a Jul 27 on-air covered date and a Jul 23 first-seen date, and only Jul 23 lines up with the credit-change dateline the take itself hangs on, so no HubSpot-sourced ship date closes the gap. It's included in this pillar because it's where the agents above actually live, not a separate subject.

What "covered" doesn't mean.
The table above is what made it on air, because those are the ones this door can quote from. More are filed under this Hub with no on-air coverage at all — things like Customer Agent Batch Testing (public beta) and the HubSpot Connector for Gemini (live) — real, dated, status-carrying records, just not ones we've tested or discussed yet. If a feature isn't in the table above, it isn't that it doesn't exist; it's that this pillar hasn't reached it yet.
Tested live, on air
The agent builder asks good questions and can still hand back the wrong build. On Describe it. Breeze Assistant builds it in Agent Builder (public beta, covered Jul 24, 2026), Casey Hawkins and Chris Carolan stress-tested it live and then Casey took it to a real workflow that night. Their verdict, on the record: "it asks genuinely good scoping questions, but the thing it built was very not right, with multiple issues." The lesson wasn't that the feature is bad — it's that one-shotting a build is the wrong instinct, and the people who get good results have already done the planning in a separate conversation.

A payment link written from a sentence only stays safe because of who's already allowed to do it. On Breeze Assistant Support for Payment Links Creation (live, covered Jul 21, 2026), the take is explicit that the capability isn't the story — the guardrails are: "But Breeze can only do what the user already has permission to do, so this does not hand anyone new power, it removes the manual clicking from power they already had." Credit-card only, for now.
A generated deck is editable, and that's the whole point. On Breeze Assistant Creates Downloadable PowerPoint Decks (live, covered Aug 18, 2026), Casey Hawkins and Chris Carolan tested it live and it produced a clean deck. Their honest caveat: "Because AI can do this for you, it doesn't remove your responsibility of making sure it looks good and reads right for whoever you're giving it to."
A sunset can be a migration wearing a different costume. On Some Breeze Assistant Connectors are being removed (upcoming sunset, covered Aug 19, 2026), Chris Carolan's read is that the eight connectors leaving aren't really the story — the infrastructure behind the newer Breeze Assistant connectors is likely replacing whatever these eight were built on: "Let's not support old architecture that breaks and is hard to maintain in an AI-native world." Anyone running one has until September 26, 2026 before the connection removes itself.
Global search stopped asking you to decide first. On Breeze Enhanced Search on Mobile (Android) (live, covered Aug 28, 2026, first Aug 19), the take frames it as removing an artifact of how the tools were built, not something a user ever wanted: "Just click on breeze. Type anything in." Android got it August 27, 2026; anyone without Breeze Assistant keeps standard global search.
Trust breaks the moment sourcing disappears. On Breeze in Slack: A better first impression, clearer help, and cleaner citations (live, covered Sep 3, 2026), Chris Carolan's line is the one this whole pillar hangs on: "Hard to trust the responses if you're not telling me where they came from." Worth saying plainly, on the record: as of that broadcast, neither host had seen Breeze Assistant running in a live Slack instance yet, despite having HubSpot connected to Slack — its own signal about discoverability.

What we do not know yet
- The Agent Hub gap. This pillar's scope, per the ruling that put it here, includes Agent Hub. But the archive's own filing rule doesn't carry Meet Agent Hub: one place to run your AI team into this Hub's own members — it's filed under seven other Hubs (Service Hub, Smart CRM, Revenue Hub, Sales Hub, Marketing Hub, Data Hub and Content Hub) and none of them is this one. That's a tagging gap this door reaches past on the strength of the structural ruling, not one it has quietly resolved.
- Half of what's live is still beta. Of the updates tested on air above, these carry a beta status today: private beta (Use Webhooks in custom agents, Describe an app deploy to your portal, AI Email Editing in Gmail, AI-assisted invoice corrections), public beta (Describe it. Breeze Assistant builds it in Agent Builder, On-Demand AI Summary, Prompt Sharing in Breeze Assistant, A new look for Breeze Assistant, Meet Agent Hub itself). Nothing above is described as generally shipped that the record says is a beta.
- Adoption, not capability, is the open question on invoice corrections. The take on AI-assisted invoice corrections with Breeze Assistant names its own limit: "We would happily invent a prize for the first person who even hears of somebody using Breeze Assistant to manage invoices in any real way." That's a capability that exists and a use case that, as of Aug 14, 2026, the hosts hadn't heard of anyone actually running.
