Another Orange Morning Recap: Wednesday, October 21, 2026

Wednesday is Zach Hussion's day, and he was in the top right tile next to Chris Carolan, with Casey Hawkins on the bottom rail. The product updates page had refilled overnight. Nine updates carried Wednesday's date and ten more had been backdated to Tuesday, so the quiet stretch after UNBOUND is over and, as Zach put it, the team is back in the saddle. Nobody was getting through thirty updates in thirty minutes, so each host took a shot.

Here is what we got into: a quick tour of the new community events calendar, Segment Sentiment Analysis, customer agent answering SMS, attaching SharePoint and OneDrive files to records by link, and a cluster of five video updates that turned into a conversation about where your videos should live.

Before the Updates: AI Partners and a Calendar

Chris opened with the walk, the breakfast, and a conversation with his AI partner, which prompted the morning's first question: does the real-life partner ever get jealous? Zach asked it. Casey's husband has a standing answer to most questions, which is ask paid Claude, and Zach and his wife walk the dog with Claude on speaker. Nobody judged anybody.

The events calendar at anotherorangemorning.com/events came up again, with a New York City HUG on it and Zach's observation as a local HUG leader that going virtual brought in more people from outside Rochester than inside. Chris is joining Joshua Oakes for Hubsessed Office Hours on reporting and dashboards at 11 a.m. Central, with Madelyn Donovan under the weather, and Tuesday's Loop Marketing and AEO session got a member question that was actually on topic. Casey, for her part, is processing how she will pull the whole October backlog before her vacation.

Segment Sentiment Analysis

Casey's pick. Segment Sentiment Analysis reads the calls, emails and notes on the members of a segment and surfaces competitor mentions, pricing objections, budget signals and product feedback, each with the snippet that produced it. It works on any contact, company or deal segment, and the example is contacts in an open deal. Private beta for Sales Hub and Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise.

The fine print matters. Only records with calls, emails or notes are analyzed, busy records are capped at fifty of each type, and the report does not refresh itself; you regenerate it. Chris read that as the place the human belongs when AI is doing the work: someone has to say this report is stale before anyone acts on it. He also wants the cohort read, where five companies describing the same frustration in five different ways land in one bucket instead of five islands.

Why it matters: Zach already runs a sentiment pass on his own calls through his meeting note taker, one call at a time, and this is the segment-level version. Chris's caveat comes from a client a year and a half ago: when half the emails on a company are order confirmations, the sentiment reads cold while the humans on the account love you. Decide what a transactional email should count for before you trust the score. For more details: Segment Sentiment Analysis.

Customer Agent for SMS Conversations

Zach's pick, and it is in development, so a forward-looking statement with no promises. Customer agent can be assigned to your customer care SMS number in the help desk and inboxes, responds to incoming texts right away, and hands off to a human when it cannot resolve the issue. The point is first-response coverage at hours nobody is staffing.

Zach's real question was the one his clients ask: is there a native way yet for a rep to send a one-to-one text from HubSpot? He checked with Breeze while the conversation went on, and the answer is no. A customer can text first and a rep can reply through the service SMS beta, marketing texts go out through workflows, but there is no one-off outbound text for a rep. He has a few clients who would jump on it the day it exists.

Why it matters: Chris's frame for the update is the one to build on. When you ask for support you want two things, acknowledgement that the request landed and then a resolution, and customer agent will acknowledge faster than any human on any team. Even if all it ever did was acknowledge and hand off, that is one expectation your people no longer carry, provided you set it with customers and design the handoff on purpose. The channel silos are coming down, and the help desk settings page is where that shows. For more details: Customer agent for SMS conversations.

Attach SharePoint and OneDrive Files by Link

Chris's turn, and he was excited. You can now attach Microsoft SharePoint or OneDrive files and folders to contact, company, deal and ticket records by pasting a link: open the record, click Add in the SharePoint and OneDrive attachments card, paste the link, select the result, confirm. Public beta. Zach covered the migration angle when this first appeared in September; the record carries both reads.

No more excuses, folks. Google Drive was covered and now the Microsoft system is covered, so the question is no longer whether you can link the file but why it lives there and not here, or in both places. HubSpot is managing all of our communication channels, we want a unified view, and that view needs all possible context. The most common reason customer agent answers faster than a human is that the human does not know where the context is, and a link sitting outside somewhere is a gap. Zach added the practical question nobody in the update answered: with twenty thousand companies and a SharePoint folder tree, how do you link the right folders to the right records in bulk, with a script, because nobody is doing it one at a time.

Why it matters: Two cautions. The magic sentence in the update is that you also need permission to access the file or folder you are linking, which is what got people in trouble with a link pasted into a note and the next person locked out. And Zach's line from UNBOUND still holds: bad context is worse than no context, and a six-year-old file in that folder becomes part of the context line whether it is relevant or not. Chris's picture of the whole thing is that a company record has always been the customer's folder, and now you can put that folder next to the record and ask Breeze what belongs in HubSpot, in both places, or only in SharePoint. The Video Cluster

Five video updates landed at once, and the hosts read them in a row rather than spin the Will It Breeze wheel. You can now create a video from scratch in the video editor instead of cloning an existing one, pick a thumbnail with a frame-by-frame scrubber from the social composer or the video page, create AI-suggested clips and posts from a longer video without leaving the social composer, and record and insert a personalized video directly in CRM email, help desk and conversation threads. Casey was most interested in the thumbnail editor after a weekend spent fighting exactly that. The redesigned video share pages from earlier this month, with a title, chapters and a searchable transcript beside the player, are what the recipient sees.

Casey asked Zach whether it was what he expected. He expected a Vidyard for prospecting or a Loom for walking a client through a process, and it is, with one question attached: where do all these recordings get saved, and what does that mean for context? Chris's answer was the sentence of the morning. Digital asset management is happening in HubSpot. The clips and recordings land in the video library with transcripts and metadata generated alongside them, and that is context the rest of the system can use.

Why it matters: Look at who gets video recording: Content Hub and Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, not Sales or Service, for a tool that lives in the CRM, help desk and conversations. Marketing is not in charge of the sales video budget, and sales may love its current tool, so the teams have to talk, and the unified context mission is what should drive that conversation. Zach pays for Loom for his team and admitted it is not used every day; a point solution still does some things better, but for a lot of teams this is good enough to drop a subscription once you have tested the share page. The Rest of Wednesday's Updates

Will It Breeze did not run today. Also on the board from Tuesday and Wednesday and not pulled forward: Reusable Metrics on Dashboards moved to public beta, contracts can now be created automatically from payment link purchases, Microsoft Teams works across portals in different data centers, deal routing workflows gained distribution and availability controls, the dashboard date quick filter was redesigned, lead rotation gained the same distribution options, enrichment changes can be undone, the Contracts API is in public beta, Content Agent can create social posts in Breeze Assistant, the Customer Success Space arrived in the customer portal, and Account Cleanup's flexible defaults carried over from Tuesday's show. Everything else that shipped is in the HubSpot updates feed.

The Sign-Off

Chris and Joshua Oakes host Hubsessed Office Hours on reporting and dashboards a couple of hours after the show. You probably already own the value you are looking for in HubSpot. You just need to wake up to it. We will see you tomorrow morning.
