Another Orange Morning Recap: Wednesday, October 14, 2026

Wednesday opened with the theme song doing some of the work. Chris Carolan hosted with Casey Hawkins and Zach Hussion, the Wednesday Friend, and the first order of business was whether Chris is now "Coach" or "Dr. Chris" (Zach is sticking with coach). The board had five new entries since Tuesday, which Casey called a comfortable amount, and two of them were the ones she had been waiting to talk about.

Here is what we got into: Reporting and Dashboards Office Hours later in the morning and how Tuesday's session page got built, cloning goals in bulk, redacted email bodies, the consolidated channels page, premium engines in the AEO tool, and PowerPoint decks in Breeze Assistant, which turned into the day's Will It Breeze.

Office Hours, and the Page Casey Shipped by Handing It to the Agents

The day's Hubsessed Office Hours came up on screen first: Reporting and Dashboards at 11:00 Central with Joshua Oakes and Madelyn Donovan, on Google Meet. Zach said he has been double booked for every session this week and was planning to make this one and throw a few curveballs. Chris's reminder was that good reporting is a large part of what anyone is paying HubSpot for, and that these two know their stuff.

Then Chris looked back at Tuesday's Loop Marketing and AEO session, which went somewhere he did not plan. At some point in September HubSpot had filled in his business context with misinformation, and what was supposed to be an AEO setup became an hour of figuring out where the bad data came from. The lesson is the one the show keeps landing on: start at the foundation of data and context, because bad context is probably worse than no context when you are asking AI to act on it. Office Hours is free to Hubsessed subscribers through the end of October.

Tuesday's recording and clips were already up on the session page, and the way they got there is the point. Chris sent Casey a link with instructions, Casey handed the link to Claude, and the page was built from HubSpot files for the full video and the clips plus HubSpot records that carry the episode metadata, the same data model the show keeps describing. Chris's take: once the context and data layer is right, a page like that is reachable, in some cases even with Breeze, and that is what custom agents, context and Loop Marketing all depend on.

Five Updates Worth Pulling Forward

Clone Goals in Bulk

Live for Sales Hub and Service Hub at Starter and above. You can now select multiple goals in the Goals table and clone them for the next fiscal year instead of re-entering them one at a time.

Zach had never thought about how much administrative work annual goal setup is until he pictured a sales team of fifty or a hundred reps, each with a quota to re-enter every January. Copy, edit, publish is the kind of low hanging fruit he likes. Chris added the reminder that goals in HubSpot are not only revenue quotas: custom goals and business goals sit on top of the data model now, so work that used to live in EOS templates outside the system can come inside, and once it does, cloning is the kind of thing you expect.

Why it matters: If you set goals in HubSpot for more than a handful of people, next year's setup just got shorter. For more details: Clone Goals in Bulk.

Redacted email bodies

A public beta for Sales Hub at every tier. Users can log that an email was sent without storing the body, which HubSpot positions as removing a blocker for healthcare, legal and other upmarket customers with strict privacy rules.

It sounds like the opening of a crime scene podcast, as the hosts noted, and Zach asked the real question: if the body is not stored, what is the record actually good for? His read was that outside a manager counting emails as a vanity metric or watching a last activity date, there is not much you can do with "an email was sent on this date to this person," and he does not expect many teams to opt in. Chris pushed further: this is where the old systems and the old ways fall away, because if you want help from AI, you want more than "it looks like we sent something to Zach." The person who cannot see the email in HubSpot can usually see it in an inbox that is no better protected, so get it in, then let someone ask why AI could not see the thing.

The counterpoint came from Zach's own history. Legal, healthcare and defense contracting all have reasons to keep things out of discoverable systems, and he had a large client leave HubSpot for Salesforce after a Department of Defense audit, following a thirty day migration he had crunched to get them in. A setting like this is exactly what a company like that points at to say they are fine. Chris's view is that it becomes a process conversation either way.

Why it matters: A narrow update for a real audience, and a prompt to ask what you expect a logged email to do for you before you turn off the part that does it. For more details: Redacted email bodies.

Consolidated Channels Page and Channel Send-From Permissions

A public beta for every hub and tier, scheduled for release around October 18. Channel settings becomes a top level page that brings team email, WhatsApp, SMS, live chat, calling and custom channels into one place, with a guided setup wizard and a send-from permission that controls which users and teams can respond from each channel account.

Chris called it right on time. The Value-First team is setting up channels for client work and for Hubsessed, and the live question is when to use Help Desk and when to use Inbox, because Help Desk is more than triage and Inbox does not have everything Help Desk has. Custom channels only come up when a communication path does not fit either one. Casey's first reaction was to the screenshot itself and how many marketplace channel apps exist. Chris's point was that most teams do not think of the word channel at all. They plug a tool in, get pinged from everywhere, and their customers do the same.

Zach's advice was crawl, walk, run. The moment the tracking code goes on, non-HubSpot forms start sending contacts in. The moment an inbox or help desk connects, conversations start arriving and someone has to own assignment and follow-up. Have the plan before the switch. Chris read the example screenshot as a lesson in what not to do, with support channels routing to a sales account, and the brand name Mostly Safe Travel got the reaction it deserved.

Why it matters: One place to see every connected channel is new, and the send-from permission is the governance piece teams usually wish they had after the fact. For more details: Consolidated Channels Page and Channel Send-From Permissions.

Premium Engines in the AEO Tool: Claude, AI Mode, and AI Overviews

A private beta for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise. With Premium Engines on, tracked prompts also run through Claude, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, and all six count toward the brand visibility score.

Casey said these three are where she is almost always interacting with AI, so anyone wondering whether they show up for Casey Hawkins needs this pack, and her question was why anyone would leave it off. Chris's answer was tokens: it is a lot more volume flowing through HubSpot, which is why it is a setting. His bigger caution was not to approach the AEO tool from a push button, get cookie perspective. AI Overviews only appear on prompts where Google chose to show one, so that visibility number is calculated from a subset, and the non-deterministic gap is different for all six engines. His comparison was the moment iOS started auto-opening emails and open rates stopped being trustworthy: you moved to trend analysis, and you will have to do the same here.

Zach connected it to twenty-six years of the same story, from black hat SEO to AEO. There is always a recipe people chase and nobody fully knows the algorithm, so treat it as part art, part science and one data point among several. Chris's refinement was that the opacity is not a choice, it is inevitable from how AI reasons, and that is the tension between the tool vendors who want rules to follow and a system that does not reward them. A rising citation count does not mean AI used your link to recommend you; it may have read your article and recommended something else. His closing line on the segment was that becoming a trusted brand in the training data takes real work, and that the button offering to create articles for you is not where to start.

Why it matters: Turn it on if you have it, then read the results as trends across engines, not as a daily percentage. For more details: Premium Engines in the AEO Tool.

PowerPoint Decks in Breeze Assistant

Live for every hub and tier. Breeze Assistant builds an editable PowerPoint deck slide by slide as an artifact, which you can edit directly, change by asking Breeze, present full screen or download as a .pptx file. Decks can follow your brand guidelines and templates.

Casey pointed out that Chris already uses Breeze for something closer to board presentations than rep slides, and Chris has thoughts he is saving for The Road to UNBOUND later in the day. The short version: he has spent a lot of effort getting leaders to sit with a complex diagram until they understand AI transformation well enough to resource it, and that understanding does not transfer to the next room without slides. So the need is real, and he had never asked Breeze to do it. That became the Will It Breeze.

Why it matters: Any rep or admin who is having trouble getting people to ask Breeze for help has a concrete starting point. For more details: PowerPoint Decks in Breeze Assistant.

Will It Breeze: Can You Turn This Web Page Into a PowerPoint Deck?

No wheel this time. Chris shared his screen, pasted the Five-Layer Model page from the Value-First Team site into Breeze Assistant, and asked for a PowerPoint slide deck with no other context, over Zach's objection that it might want to know who the audience is. Breeze asked. Who is the deck for, how long should it be, and which visual style, and Chris answered business leaders and executives, eight to ten slides, your brand.

Those three questions became the segment. Chris's point was that they are the right three questions for anyone in sales to be asked before building anything, and that a rep who does not know who the audience is or how long the deck should be is probably not in a position to win the deal. Zach took it back to the UNBOUND UNBOXED conversation: onboarding and training clients will look different in 2027 when "just ask Breeze" answers the questions partners used to field, and that is both a relief and a question about what a partner is for. Chris and Zach then went a round on whether slides are even the answer, with Chris arguing for websites and visual walkthroughs you can track, and Zach defending the focus a slide forces when eyes wander. Chris's resolution was that slides always bring intention and structure, and if you are not supplying those some other way, a web page thrown at people is not it either.

The verdict, in Chris's words, was that he was more impressed with the three questions it asked than with the output, which was not good. Zach's read: good in, good out, and the prompt was the bare minimum. Watch the episode for the full run.

The Rest of the Week's Updates

The board also carried Help Desk and Customer Agent performance by topic, the Case Studies sunset, mobile offline read-only mode, the AEO prompt data export, working on tasks with Breeze Assistant and the historical email import for Outlook, all of which the show covered on Tuesday. Everything that shipped is in the HubSpot updates feed.

The Sign-Off
